Ridge Racer has everything from the beautiful lady at the starting grid, to the shameless Namco game plugs, to the annoying yellow Lamborghini. Namco left nothing out of their arcade baby, and even added a little more like a new driving perspective. You can even play a little game of Galaxian while the game loads up! Add to that secrets not found in the arcade and you got a fantastic game for a superb system.

Ridge Racer offers a choice of four cars. Each car differs from the others in performance. The faster the vehicle, the worse the traction and handling.

The behavior of the car is reversed when the top 1 speed is slower. There is also a way to play as the other cars. The black Diablo is the ultimate racing machine. Maybe it can be driven as well? The player earns and so, unlocks for free play cars by completing races; however, final placement defines how good the car will be. By scraping through the first two heats the Final GP accepts nothing but a victory , sponsors will be unwilling to invest in the team and instead of a new car, the mechanics will only upgrade the current vehicle.

If you choose the maxed out control, your car will quite literally turn on a dime. If you apply this with the Max Speed code, you become a maniacal 4 wheeled bullet. Your rival is actually the Yellow Car — if you play as the Yellow Car, another is turned to your rival.
