Ati tv wonder elite tuner card - remote control edition

This card has a well deserved reputation for its picture quality better tham my Hauppaugue MCE The FM radio has a strong output also. Only install the actual card driver under MCE , The rest of the software on the disc is completely unneeded.

Comments: The bundled software was beyond horrible, lacked any sort of configurable software to allow RCA input that I could find. I had to download PowerCinema 4 just to get it to work. The card could be nice with the right software, but as it it was, I right to get it to work after four hours, and it was nothing but headaches.

ATI's manual was lacking, and their website has no support information at all on the product other than driver downloads.

Comments: Im using this card and It works wonderfully. I recomend it. Tuner will contantanly glitch without patch. Also may give problems with remote control. Good image quality on my monitor and has a FM tuner too! Thanx to newegg for great on time delivery. Comments: As soon as i got this i started having problems getting it to work with the software. Sound would cut out every 30 seconds and the software would crash when i tried to listen to FM music. The remote control didnt work half the time.

There are plenty of similar stories on the net. I still haven't found good software that will run this. I tried beyond tv, but i had the same issue with the sound cutting out and remote not functioning. The picture is nice and crisp. I'm sure if i had good software and i spent a few days playing with it i could get it work.

As for now it sits in my computers doing nothing till i find the time. I would not recommend this product for purchase.

It will cause you more frustration than amusement. Cons: support from Ati is horrific.. Pros: It has the ability to diplay a TV signal on your computer screen; and when it feels like it, record it. And thats about all. Cons: Saying that the included software sucks is giving it way too much credit. For starters, you have to leave the software running to record, so recording while I was away was out of the question. Are you listening ATI. If it isn't broken, don't fix it! I'm running a dual monitor setup and Cyberlink insists on opening on the main monitor every time; another ailment MMC didn't have.

Changing channels takes what seems like forever and a day. Oh yeah, the picture isn't all that either. ATI's "customer support" is a joke. And not a funny one. When you buy through our links, we may get a commission.

The card carries ISF certification from the Imaging Science Research Labs group, an organization that promotes high-quality standards in graphics and multimedia technology. With a five-foot cable, it's fairly easy to connect external devices to the breakout box without having to reach behind the PC. The card also comes with a CD containing ATI's Catalyst drivers, an online manual, and Cyberlink's PowerCinema 3, a program that can control your media collection, from recording TV programs to music, photo, and video files.

If you're one of the few people who don't have the right decoder, Microsoft explains the process on its Web site. Once installed, we loaded the drivers and software and ran the TV setup wizard, which went smoothly. Image quality was impressive when watching live TV, compared to other TV tuner cards. Scrolling text was clear and easy to read.
